Samuilitsa is a prehistoric cave settlement discovered in the area of Malak dol, 1.5 km north of the village of Kunino, Romansko.
The finds from this settlement are dated to the end of the Middle and the beginning of the Late Paleolithic and are classified as samples of the Mousterian culture; i.e. the settlement was most likely inhabited by Neanderthals. It is located about 10 km. distance from the cave settlements found in Temnata dupka (Karlukovo) and Pest (Staro selo). The archaeological excavations were started in 1956 by Nikolay Jambazov and continued by him in 1958-1959, including students from the primary school in the village of Kunino.
