The Pont d'Ambon is an abri of the Upper Paleolithic in the commune of Bourdeilles in the Dordogne department in northeastern France. In addition to two levels from the Magdalenian, the site contains four levels with artifacts from the Azilian. [1] In the uppermost layers, laboratories also appear.

Age dating using the radiocarbon method revealed an age between 10,350 and 9,640 years BP. This seems a bit young. For example, Guy Célerier and Emily H. Moss had determined ages of 12,840 ± 220 years, 12,130 ± 160 years, 9,830 ± 180 years and 9,900 ± 200 years. For comparison, the Holocene began 11,700 years ago BP. The site thus lies at the transition of the Younger Dryas period (pollen zone III) to the preboreal (pollen zone IV) and possibly also covers the entire Vistula Late Glacial.
