La Roche-Cotard III is a shelter discovered by sampling in 1977. The sediment contained many bones of large mammals (cave hyenas, wolves, foxes, red deer, Megaceros deer, roe deer, primitive ox, bison, horses) and smaller ones (rabbits, marmots). The 14C dating of a large herbivore shoulder blade corresponds to an age greater than or equal to 45,000 years (Gif 4384). The discovery of about twenty flint chips and a nucleus of fluvial origin indicate human occupation with cutting on site.
