The Grotte du Pape, located in the commune of Brassempouy, Chalosse, in the French department of Landes, is a cave with archaeological site dating from the Upper Paleolithic. It owes its notoriety to the many and exceptional ivory objects found at the entrance of the cavity: diadems, otter cap, pendants, Paleolithic Venus including The Pear unearthed in 1892 and the famous Lady of Brassempouy discovered in 1894.
