The Courbet cave is a Magdalenian prehistoric site located in Penne, in the north of the Tarn. The cave opens in the gorges of the Aveyron. In particular, she delivered two stylized female figures of the Lalinde-Gönnersdorf type, including a small female statuette called "Venus du Courbet".
The cave consists of an oval cavity about twenty meters deep, largely illuminated by a vast porch. The Magdalenians settled there directly on the scree fallen from the cliff. The oldest occupation of the cave is attributed to the Upper Magdalenian, about 13,400 years ago.
