The Grotte du Cantal is a prehistoric decorated cave located in the Lot department, located on the territory of the commune of Cabrerets. It is located on the left bank of the Célé, upstream of Cabrerets, about 300 m from the bridge to reach the hamlet of Cornu, at a place called Verdié, opposite the beach of Cantal and the cuzoul of Mélanie.
The first traces of prehistoric paintings can be found 90 m from the entrance, 3 m above the ground representing a bovid and a deer. They are surrounded by other painted lines and dots.
Twenty meters beyond this group is on the ceiling a large red pellet reminiscent of the one in the cave of Pech Merle.
For Abbot Breuil, these red paintings representing a bovid and a deer must date back to Magdalenian VI.
