The site of the Gare de Couze, sometimes called Saint-Sulpice-des-Magnats2 or Saint-Sulpice de Couze3), is an open-air prehistoric site in the commune of Lalinde in Dordogne, dated mainly to the Upper Magdalenian.
Magdalenian VI delivered a fragment of an adult parietal, whose skull shows no sagittal keel - unlike that of Chancelade which is chronologically a little earlier. Its morphological peculiarities make it unrepresentative of populations yet diversified.
An engraved block with a stylized female figure and an industry close to that of the Grotte de la Roche have been found in stratigraphy at this site and are therefore datable. The site is attributed to Magdalenian VI, contemporary with the occupation of the cave of La Roche, around 12,000 years AD.
