The Ekain Cave is located in the Guipuzcoan municipality of Deva (Spain), discovered in 1969, and houses several sets of cave paintings from the Magdalenian period (Upper Paleolithic). The importance of these paintings makes the cave considered one of the main European prehistoric sanctuaries next to Lascaux, Niaux, and Altamira, which is why it was included in 2008 in the UNESCO World Heritage list, as part of the site "Altamira cave and Paleolithic rock art of the Cantabrian coast".
