The Carpentier quarry, located on the territory of the commune of Abbeville, in the department of the Somme is a prehistoric site of the Lower Paleolithic. It was classified as a historical monument in 1983.
The quarry and several others in Abbeville (including the nearby Léon quarry: 400 meters) reveal several layers of sediment including white marl as well as sand and gravel containing traces of lithic materials. The Carpentier quarry in particular delivered two crude punches from the Acheulean period. It has a section of land of 20 m x 4 m, protected by a roof.
