In the municipality of Longare (VI) in the locality of Lumignano there is the Broion cave, a sinkhole-cavity of the karst type, which opens onto the southern slope of Mount Broion at about 150 m a.s.l. Mount Broion is located on the eastern side of the Colli Berici complex, a hilly system located south of the pre-Alpine margin with the plain and which appears in morpho-tectonic continuity with the Lessini mountains. In 1951 significant traces of Neanderthal man were found in this cave by the geologist Piero Leonardi.
